About US

Force Fields Track Club (FFTC) founded in July 2004 is a non-profit organization based in Lower Merion, Pennsylvania. We are a registered member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), and USA Track and Field (USATF). We compete in both AAU and USATF sanctioned events on a local and national level. FFTC is a year round athletic program, providing individualized training to children ages 10 to 18.

Force Fields Track
Indoor season begins the first week in October ending in the second week of March. Spring season begins the second of March and ends the first week of June. Summer season begins the second week in June and ends mid August.

Our mission

Force Fields Track’s mission is to provide the right environment for our athletes to develop their mental and physical skills while building character and promoting sportsmanship. We will succeed in our mission with the following formula.

Provide Science-oriented Training.
Develop confidence and self-esteem through positive reinforcement.
Encourage a healthy diet which will maximize performance on and off the track.
Encourage our older athletes to mentor younger and newer athletes.
Having fun while we train.

If you would like to help our athletes financially you are encouraged to donate to our scholarship fund. Your donations will go toward offsetting travel expenses for our athletes and to help offset the cost of uniforms. Your donations can be anonymous or you can be recognized for your generosity; it is completely up to you. There is no minimum amount to donate; truly the thought does count.

We hope that you will come and join the "Force Fields Track Family"!
May The Force be with you.

Membership

Force Fields Track is a membership based not for profit organization. We will never charge a fee to be a member of the team. Any fee that is paid to the team will cover your child’s USA Tack and Field membership, AAU membership, Uniform and or equipment, transportation, hotel accommodations, and meet fees

Your potential investment is as followed
Uniforms: Our Uniforms are custom deigned to fit each athlete. It takes between 4-7 weeks for the uniforms to arrive once an order is placed. Each athlete receives the following.

1. One speed suit (Boys)|Three piece fitted suit ( 2 piece girls grade school and under)

2. One warm weather training top

3. One wind breaker jacket

4. One wind breaker bottom

Spikes: Every year we choose a shoe for the team. This is done to make sure each athlete is wearing a properly worn shoe. The cost of the shoe will very each year and is not included in the cost of the uniform because of this reason. We will always keep the cost of the shoe we choose to below $100.00.
USA Track and Field (USATF) Membership: Each athlete must renew their membership each year to compete in any USATF sanctioned meet.
AAU Membership: Each athlete must renew their membership each year to compete in any AAU sanctioned meet. This year’s fee is $14.
Meet fees: Each meet requires a fee to compete. This fee covers the cost to run the meet and lease the facilities. Our summer program will cost $5-$7 per event for the USATF meets and $20-$25 per meet for the AAU meets.

2010 Outdoor season Practice

Practice Schedule

Saturdays or Sundays: 1:30-3:15 PM

Monday - Thursday: 5:30 -7:15 PM

'

All athletes should come prepared for practice by drinking at least 16oz of fluid and having something very light to eat one hour before. A suggestion would be 8oz of Orange Juice followed by 8oz of water and a healthy sized banana an hour before practice. This combination will give you both the hydration and electrolytes you need to begin a good work out. Also bring plenty of water to practice to maintain hydration ; we will take hydration breaks several times during our workouts.
Proper hydration is very important when training and competing for any sport. The key to being properly hydrated is to make sure fluid and electrolytes are available for your body to use when needed. It takes time for our bodies to metabolize anything we take in before it is put to use. This is why you should prepare ahead of time for any workout or competition. Preparation will help give you the advantage of meeting your potential and protect you from possible injury.

May The Force be with you.
